I thought I’d stop by and make a couple of exciting announcements. I’m thrilled to say that I’m joining the English and MFA faculty at California State University, Fresno. The program there is one of the most diverse in the nation and I feel honored that I will soon be teaching such a wonderful group of students.
And…I have been working on my new novel for over a year, now. I am revising, which means the draft I had in October has been all but obliterated to make room for the new draft, the new growth. Many of my friends are having babies, and part of me envies the definitive 9 month gestation and labor. A novelist almost never knows when exactly her book will be finished, but I am aiming for this Summer.
And my touring schedule for the Spring and Summer is now more concrete. It includes Beirut39 events, as well as three events at the PEN World Voices Festival, and appearances on panels and stages at the Hay Festival for Literature in Wales, The Radius of American Writers’ Conference in Ann Arbor, and the American Library Association’s ALTAFF conference in June.
Thank you for your continued support. As Spring makes its way to us, I hope whatever projects, plans, and ideas you’ve had will soon be ready to bloom.
